My kids are thrilled that Marlyse and Hadley are living with us. Kenny does not live here. He sleeps here. Woe is the life of the young male provider building his career. For the next five weeks he has the opportunity to spend four hours a day in the car listening to books on tape.
As Mr. Right and I were doing the dishes last night the years of building his own career flashed before his bespectacled eyes. All the moments spent away from home stretched before him like a wall between he and his family except now his position had altered. He was viewing from the families side of the wall. This perspective change gave him insight. That or the soap bubbles.
Mr. Right asked, "Is this what it was like for you the last two years of medical school and the three short years of residency? When I left at 6am and got home at 7:32pm?" He looked at my expression, "Except you had no family. And you also had three little ones for a while there."
And at that moment he fathomed something even greater..."So that's why you're so neurotic."
Ah love.
And if you'd like to see how wonderfully Marlyse handles the life style she posts regularly on her own blog. I recommend reading it because she's highly complimentary towards my children.
