Dear Children,
Today when I wanted to make cookies you kindly left me half the dough to do so with. (And by the way, your shapes were…creative.)
Thank you.
Today you did not complain when I was late picking you up from school. I was giving your sister a piano lesson and lost track of time.
Thank you.
Also, today you did not complain when we could not finish your piano lesson. I lost track of time and had to get your brother from school.
Thank you.
Today when I wanted to use a new cake recipe to make cupcakes no one complained when I ran out of the energy required to make frosting. You happily ate at least two each sans frosting.
Thank you.
Today when I put on a cartoon for you to watch only one of you didn’t like it.
Thank you.
Today when I wanted to watch a two hour movie so I let you use every blanket and toy in the house to make “forts”, you only interrupted my movie 32 times. Why, you helped me enjoy that movie for three and three-quarter hours instead of the intended two.
Thank you.
Today when I played hike and seek with you, only one of you had a tantrum and stomped their feet. I was ready for the game to be done and you moved that along.
Thank you.
Today when I cooked dinner only one of you carried a grudge about the cartoon choice from earlier in the day while the rest of you played with dominoes. This made cooking time much more pleasant.
Thank you.
Today during story time, most of you chose to not jump on the bed or roll around on the floor making strange noises.
Thank you.
Love your mother,
The Queen
