There is a BYU game tonight and Mr. Right made some caramel popcorn and took a big bowl of it and The Pirate over to Sweet Little Gal’s in-laws house to watch the game.
The Princess said, “Where is The Pirate?”
He went with your dad to watch the BYU game.
“Aahhh…that’s good. They can have man time. And we can have Woman time.”
This is what we did for Woman time.
The Princess and The Pixie were getting crazy while they ate soup, and The Princess spilled a whole bowl in her lap.
I cleaned it up.
We “decorated for Autumn”.
This means I got out my fake flower arrangement of orange, red and yellow leaves.
We looked at it for a minute.
We began to eat our way thru the bowl of caramel popcorn Mr. Right left for us. The Pixie used her little monkey fingers to pry apart the chunks, looking for the overloaded caramel sections.
The Pixie sang us a strange medley of Poor Wandering One (Pirates of Penzance) – Traditions (Fiddler on the Roof) – Kansas City (Oklahoma!) while we threaded some beads onto wires.
Then they decided to take a girl bath.
I opted out.
So while they were in their mermaid pond I remade The Pixies bed with fresh sheets and then, for the first time today, I decided to sit down for ten uninterrupted minutes.
Woman time is so exhausting you see.
I settled myself on the other side of the partially open bathroom door and could hear the girls clearly.
The Princess said, “Do you want the pirates to come?”
The Pixie declared, “No!”
“But they need to come and get you.”
I don’t want the pirates to come!
When you say “avabadulbah” the pirates will come.
I don’t want the pirates to come!!
That sounded like avabalubah to me!! AARRRGGGH!!!
No! No! NOO!!
Splash. Splash.
And so I got up. Not to intervene, she’s not actually drowning. I got up to type what they said, because I guarantee I’ll forget it later. Which is when my ten minutes will come as well. Right?
Because let’s face it – who wants to miss out on Woman time?
