AND THEN THEY TURNED FOUR

When I asked The Pixie what kind of birthday party she wanted she said, “A little bird birthday.”

So we went with it.

We had hers today and The Pirate will get his own special day on Monday.

We even had a little flock fly in just for the event.

We ate giant candy eggs.

And candy nests.

And even little dirt “pupcakes” with sour worms sticking out to feed our little birds.

And after painting some birdhouses purple and yellow (because those were the colors she choose) she opened a few presents which were just for her.

And that was special, because almost everything we own belonged to The Princess first, except, for example, this one baby doll that Miss Jenea got The Pixie on her first birthday and which is still taken care of fondly.

P.S.  During all the flighty hullabaloo The Pirate was removed from the vicinity by Mr. Right.  Later, when I was putting The Pirate to bed I asked him what his favorite thing of the day was and he said, “Going to Costco with dad.”  And when I asked the Pixie, of course she responded, “My bird birthday.”
