(Laudie got herself some fleas and therefore has to wear the cone of shame until she stops chewing herself.)
Every night I say, “Laudie go to bed with The Pirate” and she will mozy in and lay with him on his bed until he falls asleep.
After her little nap, and he has fallen into a coma, she will come find me and ask me for a treat or two. She loves tomatoes and cheese.
She also lets The Pirate wrestle her. She will sit there and stare at me while he wrings her neck. Sometimes she’ll get up and wander off.
She lets The Pixie trip and fall on her. Probably she doesn’t really notice that.
She likes to sit under the desk while The Princess does her school work. She likes to rest her head against her feet.
Every four days I call her Stinky until she gets bathed.
I’ve only gotten REALLY mad at her once.
The Pirate was eating a ham sandwich and he set it down on the end table and walked away. Laudie eyed it for a while and then eventually went up to snag it. I saw her and warned, “Laudie. No.”
That’s not why I was really mad at her.
I was really mad at her because after I said, “no”, in a carnivoric frenzy she defied me and ate the sandwich.
I was so mad. I yelled, “NONONONONO.” And banished her outside.
She didn’t bark once to let us know she was ready to come in. She knew she’d been naughty. Finally I went to let her in. Instead of jaunting in as usual she sat on the porch and hung her head. She wouldn’t come in until I said, real nice, “OK. We love you. Come in Laudie.”
She came in and sat by me until I gave her love.
I guess I can handle the occasional stink.
