I’M DRAGGIN’ MY FEET HERE

IMG_0121 We somewhat spontaneously went to U-taw.

I took my camera out twice.  Was I so busy?

No.  But who among us mothers can still call up the powers of shutterbugging now that our firstborns are no longer glorious infants laying in eyelet trimmed bassinets?

I’m embarrassed to recall those days.

If you knew me back then please forgive me and my rambling tongue and love-struck eyes.

In modern times it took me a whole week to get off my duff and dig out the camera.

One time I snapped The Pixie.  She refused to look normal.  She stuffed half a sandwich in her mouth and posed.  Maybe I’ll feature that delightful image next month.

The other time I caught the twins and Mr. Right discussing something of great importance.

I don’t know what that was but as par for course in the life of a four year old…I guarantee it was important.

Have I mentioned how many people there are to visit in U-taw?  Thank heavens we’re not polygamists.   After a week of hopping about from one relative to another we drove home.

Oh beautiful Cascades I missed you.

We drove down your western side at twilight  (no ladies I did not say “TWIlight”  -- be still your sappy hearts) .

It was like driving to the end of the country…which we were pretty much doing if you look at a map and don’t count Alaska.

The setting sun was glowing bright across the horizon.  The Princess exclaimed, “Oh Pirate, look at that.  You don’t get to see that everyday!”

And he gasped in shock, “WHAT?!  I don’t?  Why not?!”

He was miffed.
