SAY “DONE”

IMG_0264-1 I was driving with The Princess and The Pixie.

The Princess was describing an issue that was on her mind:

Mom I’m having this trouble with my friend.  We were playing and she wanted the Other pillow and I said, ‘Well you can have this Certain pillow or no pillow but not the Other pillow and then she said, “No Thanks.”  And now I’m so mad!

What’s wrong with that?  What was she supposed to say?

But that Other pillow is for my OTHER friend.

Oh.  Ok.  What did your Other friend say about it?

She wasn’t there.

Huh?  Where was your Other Friend?

At home.

Your Other Friend wasn’t even there?  How come you couldn’t give your first friend the pillow she wanted?

Because my mind likes to have everything in a certain place in a certain way and the Other Pillow belongs to my Other Friend!  And I am so mad and you are going to tell me, “Figure it out.”  But I just don’t want to.

Ahhh.  Well then, here it is Princess…

The Pixie began talking loudly so I said,

Pixie stop interrupting and then continued,

Princess, The problem you’re having with your friend…

The Pixie increased her noise level so I said,

Pixie stop, I’m talking to The Princess and then continued,

Princess, the problem your having, it is not your Friends problem.  It’s yours.

The Princess inhaled sharply and glared at me as I concluded,

And honestly Pixie!  Close your mouth and hold your words until we are finished.

The Princess quickly spat out, “Pixie,  open your mouth and let your words GO.  Mom and I are finished!”
