"OH WHAT A FUNNY THING TO SAY" said The Princess

Daddy-o-ginairieno (my dad) used to joke that The Princess would have her own phone by the time she was six. It turns out he was right. I just don't think he meant it would be a Barbie I-Know-You Smart Phone.

She received it for her 6th birthday. NO not from me. I would never... are you kidding?

I vaguely recall her begging me for about 30 minutes to get it to work. If memory serves me right I ignored her. So then she must have asked Mr. Right because at some point the phone was programmed, using the Internet, with things for Barbie to say when she calls.

I guess it's a very technologically advanced toy. I haven't really figured it out myself.

But now Barbie calls and says things like, "Hi let's go shopping!"

Or, "I like your shoes!"

It was recently pointed out to me that most Primary Presidents are really peppy. So I'm going to assume that Barbie would make a good primary president. Mostly because she talks with all exclamation marks and in a really happy voice. (And that's all one really needs to do when one is primary president.)

On the other hand, she seems a little shallow.

And sometimes she's a little creepy.

Yes.

She likes to crank call me when the kids are asleep and Mr. Right isn't home.

She usually does this when I'm walking by their room to turn off the hall light for the night, or when I'm sitting on my laptop and all the house is dark.

She will call and let it ring and ring and ring. I haven't the nerve to answer it yet.

I don't want to know what she has to say.

In the dark spot of my imagination I am horrified to answer it and hear her say, "Hi Queen M!" in a really happy voice.

Still, the bugs think she's charming, and believable and her opinion matters.

So actually she's probably not a primary president.

The other day we were driving in the bugmobile and The Princess asked The Pixie, "These are my new pink shoes. Aren't they pretty?"

And The Pixie said, "Oh yessss."

This was not enough for The Princess so she asked, "Do you like my shoes?"

And The Pixie responded, "Yes I do."

And for emphasis The Pixie added, "And so does Barbie."
