DAY THREE

Day Three the bugs decided to wake up too early. I sat upright and from my side of the trailer, with my hair askew and eyes all red, hollered in my meanest mommy whisper (so as not to offend the nearby campers). "If you guys don't settle back down real quick we're not going to have any fun today. It's your choice!" There was a hush and I slept for another forty minutes.

Upon waking as my cheerful, lovely self I discovered The Pirate had ensconced The Pixie with all the pillows and blankets and readables to keep her quiet. Good choice son.

Once up we explored the Interpretive Center at Ocean Shores (D). It has nothing to do with strange dances from foreign countries and more to with teaching children (and adults) about the sea life, history and culture.

It's all very hands on and for a brief 10 minutes The Pirate even left his place at their complimentary sandbox. It took him two minutes to cruise thru the entire museum and ten more minutes to play Jack Sparrow at a wheel. I know, I know...lovely role model he.

And by the wayside...we let The Pirate choose the movie for the drive to Pacific Beach (back on Day One)

Surprise, surprise he choose Pirates of the Caribbean.

I found it well timed given the connection between the movie and the Grays Harbor community we were spending so much time in over these three days. (And if you're too lazy to clink then I'll say it briefly like this: HMS Interceptor is played by the lovely Lady Washington whose birthplace is Aberdeen Washington.)

So sorry.

I briefly digressed.

Back in Pacific Beach we played on the beach.

And Tenley flew a kite.
So sorry.

She was as giggly as could be and beside herself with glee because she flew a kite.
