MAKE YOUR SHOPPING LIST

IMG_0135  Here’s how we started doing it.

Family Home Evening once a week.  Plan, plan, plan or you’ll forget to do it.

Pay Day every Family Home Evening.  $1.10 per kid.  You get paid just for being a member of the family.  Like the opposite of the Pennsylvania’s “breathing” tax.   You also get chores just for being a member of the family.  Two-way street my friend.

$1.00 is carefully put in your bank and carefully recorded in Book-keeping.

$.10 is carefully put in your tithing bank.  (We’re a little off on our 10%.  But no one has noticed yet, so hush.)

Twice a Month you get to visit the Mommy Store.

That’s right.

Gotta’ save up you know.  Mom’s not gonna buy it for you that’s for sure.

You could chose stickers, or pens, or novels, or rainbow colored goldfish.   You could buy paint-by-number cards or tracing paper or finger nail polish.  You could buy a potato gun or your own box of Honey Buns if you liked.

Take your pick and make your purchase.

Book-keeping will make a record of it…just to keep track.

Now go enjoy your eagerly anticipated item.

*The Pixie bought her favorite treat…a full box of honey-buns.  Then she hid underneath the dining table until all six were devoured.
